Thank you all for your positive responses to this proposed multimedia listl!

We think a separate multimedia list dedicated to product development makes sense, so we don't spam everyone on the commons list with every little technical detail related our team's work. : )

But I like your suggestion to cross-post messages of interest to both multimedia and commons, so that everyone is in the loop on our overall progress.

Keep in mind that we are just now forming this new team, so we will not have a lot to share in coming weeks, but expect more activity starting next month.

To be continued,

Fabrice

I don't remember why this list was split out, but are you sure those
multimedia discussions can't just happen on Commons-l, merging the
subscribers list of this ML to it? They've always had a lot of overlap.

It makes sense to rename video-l to multimedia-l.  I also like the
idea of bringing multimedia discussions back to the commons list,
copying both lists, for the first month or two.  Once the traffic gets
too high, it can focus on its own list, but the first few dozen
threads would likely be welcome by the commons-l participants.   This
would also remind everyone for a period of time of the new energy
going into multimedia.
