Indeed. To put this in historical perspective, I believe the use of
indentation for source code (and preformatted text in general) can be
traced back to Cunningham's original WikiWikiWeb. He may have got the
idea from POD, which was introduced with about six months earlier with
Perl 5. I'm not sure where the idea came from before that -- I suppose
it's possible it was invented by Larry Wall, but it's also possible that
he got the idea from some other markup language.
