Dear wikitech's,
I'm not sure about the next procedures and I'm not sure whether I'm doing
the right thing. I ask some people at IRC wikimedia and they said that I
should email wikitech.
My proposal of buginese language receives consensus from the wikis and me
and my friends (wikimedia username:Riyanz) agreed to join and work on this
buginese wikipedia (both of us are native to the buginese.) This proposal
also receives enough support from other wikis. Therefore, I am asking
wikitech's help to set up a new wikipedia in buginese.
The wikipedia of buginese as discussed will be using lontara (buginese
script) and roman alphabet.
Below is the link to the proposal template
<http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Requests_for_new_languages/Buginese>
And should I remove my proposal to the approved language site?
Thank you
Muhammad Zaid Zainuddin
p/s: If this is not the right procedure, can wikitech explain to me what
should I do now, whom the request should be forward to etc.
Hi again!
Buginese (code bug - ISO 639-2) has now been moved to the "approved requests"
page, along with Norfolk (code pih - ISO 639-3). So there are now 7 wikipedias
waiting to be created.
Also, the Banyumasan team of contributors has said they would prefer the code
bms, so "map-bms" would be preferred over "qbn", if that is possible.
(They
would also be happy with "banyu".)
If you have any concerns or questions about any of these requests, please feel
free to ask, including any problems with codes for any of these languages. I
understand that this has held up some requests in the past, and recognise that
it is important to have appropriate codes.
We appreciate all the work you've put in to make wikipedia what it is today, and
look for to some new language versions in the near future.
