Hi,
Just adding a note about the codes. Three languages have ISO 639-3 codes, and
the other two don't have any existing ISO codes. In the last couple of days
there has been discussion on using "locally defined codes" starting with
"q" for
Samogitian and Banyumasan, if that is necessary. In the case of Samogitian the
proposers said they would prefer a code such as "bat-smg", but would accept
"qsm". For Banyumasan, there was no clear alternative, but they said they would
accept a code such as "qbn". (Also, Banyumasan here is for all Western Javanese
varieties, not just Banyumasan itself.) The full list of codes is:
1. Venetian: vec (ISO 639-3)
2. Udmurt: udm (ISO 639-3)
3. Samogitian: qsm (locally defined code) (or "bat-smg")
4. Banyumasan: qbn (locally defined code)
5. Lombard: lmo (ISO 639-3)
All of these proposals have been on the request page for months and none of them
seem controversial, so I hope they can be created soon. If you have any
questions or concerns about any of them, feel free to contact me or
other regular contributors to the request page.
