I have no idea how to make such picture out of wikipedia-articles but I
would welcome any kind of feedback.

"It is not
easy to lay out a tree with 100,000 nodes" - Although many
of our articles have only a few links to them and a few links
outwards, plotting 5,000,000 is not a reasonable task. I suggest
instead taking the diagram of server layout on meta:, the Wikimedia
logo, a Wikipedia front page, another front page from another
language, etc.
