Tim's right about everything, of course, but it sure would be
unfortunate for things to go in that way. I assume Enrico is talented
and motivated and we've seen wonderful things from people taking up
the effort for a total rewrite.
So while of course it's true that Enrico doesn't _need_ anyone's
approval, wouldn't it be better if he approached the main developers
(in IRC, for example, or on this list) to gather support and ideas, so
that we could all pitch in on this together? (That's the editorial
"we", of course, I'm personally useless.)
