MySQL AB just released a notice that there's a

version 3.23.54, which we are using. So now would be a good time
to upgrade to 4.0.12. It's been running at Piclab (where it was
installed in-place over an existing installation) and larousse
(where it was installed initially), and seems to be running well.
Sounds good, but please run a backup dump first!
(Lee, the current backup script is /home/brion/bin/backup-wikis. It takes
a few hours to finish, largely for dumping and compressing the English
old table.)
This will require a reboot, which I'll plan on
doing late tonight
if there are no objections.
I can't imagine any reason for rebooting, unless you're also planning to
upgrade the kernel.
