Don't know about others, but I have never used the links to the users'
talks pages on recent changes. I think they are useless, because you
won't go there before seeing the diff. I'd be happy about a rc without
the links to users' talk pages, because they only clutter up the page.

Yes, I find them useful, and would not want to miss them. However,
if the gain in speed is significant, I could live with the link being
always shown as existing, and getting to a "(There is currently no text
in this page)" (although then preferably with an adapted text for the
specific case) when clicking on it sometimes.
