I notice that we had a US$1000 contribution. Which got me thinking...
Do we / should we give recognition of significant contributions? My
wife works for a university advancement office, and they have various
ways of acknowledging significant contributions.
Many of these seem to be little more than stroking the donor's ego.
But it is a well-accepted method of encouraging contributions from
those who have money and like to have their ego's stroked.
Of course, $10 from one person may be far more significant (in a
different sense) than $10,000 from another. There is probably no way
for us to recognize these contributions.
What do you think?
