This is necessary for another reason: copyright validation. Often images are
uploaded with the description that they are from a foreign language
wikipedia. That means that someone hunting for possible copyvio has to go to
that other language wikipedia to verify the source. Needless to say I didn't
succeed in reading the details on an image in the korean wikipedia, and the
user copying it over has yet to respond to my request.
