Well, there are many other needs, so I think we can leave it up for
now. But we should craft a wise list of needs to publicize for when
we're up and running fast and really push for media attention via the
press release.
Our current plan is to have two front-end webservers in front of the
big backend, and once that's in place to evaluate where the bottleneck
is.
But for that, we'll likely want to have a front-end load balancing
machine -- that's what we used to do at Bomis, and it works well with
only minimal hardware... but there *is* that minimal hardware.
We've always talked about how nice it would be to have the mailing
lists hosted on different machines from the website, and so that's
another need.
We'd like to be able to pay Brion for all his admin work at some
point, if that's at all possible.
There's the legal stuff that Alex keeps wisely warning us about.
There's plenty of use for at least $20,000 right away, if we can get
it.
But the server fund was the MOST PRESSING thing and this is going
to make a HUGE difference.
