I agree completely: for some people the "game" of adding tiny stubs to 
see the article count go up would be replaced by the "game" of enlarging 
tiny stubs into 500-character mini-articles for the same reason. 
Combined with the Wikipedia community as a quality-control mechanism, 
this can only have a beneficial effect, leading to more development 
towards useful content.
