It's not AFD that's failing. Any deletion system can be faulted by
ignorance on the part of nominators and deleters. We need to have
stricter rules about how people should behave when voting in deleting
discussions, to lessen the hostile atmosphere when controversial
articles come up.

We need to address people's attitudes. Those are actually the cause of
problems with deletion.
