About 40% believe it, but the opinion of the general population isn't
relevent when it comes to scientific matters--it's the opinion of the
relevent parts of the scientific community that matter.

I should also note I love timwi's qualifier of "most" which isn't
based on actual statistics and is just a blatant attempt at America
bashing deeply hurts my feelings (see Wikipedia:No personal
attacks).
