That is absolutely false.  It is based on our *current practise*, which
seems to work quite well and demonstrably enjoys very strong support.  The
following proposal on the "Graphic and potentially disturbing images"
survey got 33 votes for and only 5 votes against:

"Do nothing now, as there's not really a problem now. Revist this if it
ever becomes a widespread problem that can't adequately be handled on a
case by case basis on individual article talk pages as it is now. Policy
should only ever be developed on an as needed basis, as excessive policy
is both wasteful and harmful."
Please do not misrepresent our current practise as some new crusade.
