My reading of current policy is that we allow only one-sided double 
jeopardy, which is a problem.

Articles can be renominated for deletion as many times as is necessary 
in order to get them deleted (although it is considered poor form to 
renominate soon after the last time it survived).

Conversely there are some (many?) admins that shoot substantially 
similar revived articles on sight if they have previously lost (however 
marginally) a VfD.

I don't enough about the particular case to comment, but this imbalance 
does seem to be logically wrong.
