I think this is a bad idea. Most Featured Articles are greatly improved by
being on the front page.

The best thing is for the Featured Articles Dictator to let substantial
contributors to the page know it's coming up soon, and ask them to keep an
eye on the page during the day.

(The Featured Articles archive shows features for a few days ahead, but a
lot of people don't know to look there.)

Also, those in a mood to keep an eye out for vandalism/sandboxing should
keep an eye on the feature.
