How is this list generated? Is it the actual number of external links, 
or is it the number of articles that contain at least one external link 
to that site?

The reason I'm asking is that your list goes all the way back down to 
only 20 links, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiveJournal contains 
roundabout 40 links to www.livejournal.com.

So either there's something wrong with the list, or I'm missing 
something here ...
