Maybe your machine is peforming obscene act on the characters.  In the 
first messages I received them as question marks in black diamonds. 
 They showed up correctly on Brion's message, but on your last message 
they were mostly showed up as Cyrillic two-letter combinations. 
 Nevertheless they ended up correct again when I quoted the message 
above.  Go figure!
