[Mediawiki-l] MediaWiki installed, but I don't seem to have an administrator account

Well, following the instructions at 
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Setting_user_rights_in_MediaWiki for 
phpMyAdmin, where I have entered "UPDATE user_rights SET 
ur_rights="bureaucrat,sysop" WHERE ur_user=1;" in the SQL query box, and 
have gotten:

SQL query:

UPDATE user_rights SET ur_rights = "bureaucrat,sysop" WHERE ur_user =1;

MySQL said: Documentation
#1146 - Table 'joshua-w_wiki.user_rights' doesn't exist

Am I missing something?  The final install went without error, so why do 
I seem to be missing tables in the wiki MySQL database?
