particular version of MediaWiki, and I can't actually remember which
it is...it's possibly the 1.7 branch.
3. If you replaced wikibits.js with an arbitrary file from somewhere
else (where?) then it's possible you destroyed the helper functions
used to add the edit buttons in the first place.
