[Mediawiki-l] missing stylesheet

When I upgraded to 1.5, I had to re-skin everything. The monobook.php
file was very different than the 1.4 version. That might be the same
case when upgrading from 1.3-1.4

I had a working mediawiki MediaWiki 1.3.9 
PHP 5.0.4 (apache2handler) 
MySQL  4.1.7-standard 

it all worked fine on fedora core 3, upgraded to 4 and stylesheets don't
work (background not shown, not nicely formatted) - obviously I haven't
deleted them they are still there, settings file is as before.  I also
rebuilt from backup but its the same. I changed all the permissions to
apache:apache but no difference so doesn't seem to be that. Any ideas ?
