Hmmm, I just discovered a gossamer-threads archive for MediaWiki-l:

If this mechanism has proved to be reliable, it seems like this addresses 
the archiving points for now.  (And it greatly helps me for my discussion 
references.)

If anyone wants to use the sync-forum-posts-w-email-list features of 
mail2forum, let me know.
