Without seeing your actual code, I can't begin to guess just what you might
be doing wrong. Does it work for you if you copy the hello-world code and
put your own credentials in the .ini file?

The contents of that .ini file would be something like this:

agent = Your user agent
consumerKey = 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef
consumerSecret = 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef01234567
