[Labs-l] New disk partitioning scheme for instances

Hello!

As of two days ago, all new instances created will *not* have a
separate /var or /var/log partition. This has been a cause of chronic
issues since a 2G /var or /var/log fills up quickly, causing lots of
cascading failures elsewhere. WIth the new images, we have 20G
available in / by default, and it takes a while more to fill up than
2G :)

So if you have particular instances that are handicapped by the 2G
/var, do re-image them for fun and profit!
