Yes, filing a request in Bugzilla is always preferred
because then it's ensured that it doesn't fall through the
cracks :-).  I filed https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/65049
(jq) and https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/65048 (pdftk) and
submitted https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/132322.

P. S.: And +1 for jq being awesome :-).  Very useful in
       shell scripts.
