[Labs-l] Tool Labs slow + MySQL connection errors

In the last ~ 4 days there has been a noticeable decrease in
performance, esp. longer lasting periods of lag
Since yesterday additionally MySQL connection errors. Logs are full with
stuff like:
oursql.OperationalError: (2013, 'Lost connection to MySQL server during
query', None)

Any maintenance going on? New power-players in Tools? An app running wild?
