[Labs-l] building different kernel

I am running 3.8 on all my personal machines (laptop & office desk pc)
and it works pretty well, I hope that running that on new sql box
where data storage has btrfs will improve the sql server performance
slightly and eventually we get rid of potential problems caused by
fixed bugs.
