No problem for me.
WikiHiero is a specialized feature and don't need to be an integral part of
MediaWiki.

PS: By the way, we have "only" a thousand pictures (that cover 90% of case)
while there are about 5000 hieroglyphs for all periods.

Subject: [Wikitech-l] Moving extensions (WikiHiero) to separate module in
CVS
WikiHiero is really neat, but only a small number of
installations are
likely to enable it, and the large number of small images is rather
burdensome. Aside from the space factor, it *really* slows down CVS
operations to examine them all.
If there's no objection, I'd like to move the 'extensions' directory to
a top-level module, next to 'phase3' instead of inside it, so it can be
checked out separately.
We'd package it for separate download anyway, so this is mainly a
developers' convenience. The extensions folder could then just be
dropped into place and the appropriate switch enabled to turn it on in
an installation.
