IIRC, there were others besides me who were interested in having multiple namespaces that act like the category namespace. Playing with my alternate Category page extension, I realized that I could fake having multiple category namespaces by getting the title text of the category page, analyzing it, and then replacing it with $wgOut->setPageTitle( $titleText ); Where $titleText is the alternative h1 heading. I've also figured out how to alter the subheadings and count messages. But I haven't figured out how to set the text in the leftmost tab.
