I feel we should keep in line with the function calls. There are already
way too
many spaces as it is, and there is never a problem telling control
structures
apart - they are always followed by an indented block and most editors
highlight
them. I think if(), while(), foreach(), for() should all be without a space
after keyword.

Hi all,
As you might have heard Wikimedia Nederland, Wikimedia UK, Wikimedia
France and Europeana are collaborating to provide a set of tools to get
material from GLAM institutions onto Wikimedia Commons. The Wiki GLAM
Toolset has to be created in a way that re-use can easily be tracked,
and that Commons materials can easily be integrated back into the
collection of the original GLAM. You can find more about the Wiki GLAM
Toolset on our project page.
<http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:GLAMToolset_project>
Currently we are looking for wiki-developers who can help us in this
process, if you are interested please let us know. You can find more
specific information about our needs on our discussion page
<http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:GLAMToolset_project/Outr

Hi Thomas,
thanks for sharing your experiences. The issues you mention can truly be problematic. I will keep them in mind. But for my use case "jquery.ui.autocomplete" does work quite well.

I don't think there were considerations about changing MediaWiki's built-in suggestion feature. That's not what this discussion is about. It's just about a little (very specific) extension I'm working on. :)
Robert
Hi everybody!
I'm writing an extension that needs to replace/disable the build-in suggestion feature of the search box. In earlier versions this could be archived by setting $wgEnableMWSuggest (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgEnableMWSuggest) to false. But with 1.20 this option is no longer available.
In includes/OutputPage.php:2484 it seems that $wgUseAjax is the only condition (despite of user settings) that is evaluated to decide whether to add the module "mediawiki.searchSuggest" or not. But I don't want to disable the ajax features completely.
ResourceLoader doesn't offer me any hooks or interfaces that would allow my extension to remove the module programmatically.
Any hints on this? Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Robert Vogel

Is that stuff supposed to go after one chooses "no, ask me more questions"?
Cause I was not asked *any* more questions.
On a related story: if I give the installer a table prefix for which the
tables already exist, what will it do? I have 3 wikis in the same DB, and
I therefore cannot simply drop the DB... and you apparently can't use
wildcards in DROP TABLE.

Hi guys!
I'm searching the good sidebar extension for MediaWiki project, can
anyone recommend something nice? I've tried SidebarEx, NavBlocks,
CustomSidebar
Requirements:
1) Full MediaWiki markup support;
2) show different content for different groups of users;
3) show different content for different categories. Or maybe using the
sidebar calls inside the Templates that will then be invoked on the
pages, creating sidebars that are speciafic for the given page;
4) nice appearance.
5) ideally live project that is supported by developers
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
