A lot of the other infrastructure relies on PHP; so that shouldn't be an issue!
If you have specific projects in mind (even if they are speculative) feel free to list them on the Wiki. The more data points the better!

PHP please. I'm currently up to my eyeballs in Moodle, and for the
future of the system I'm painfully assembling we'd need competence in
PHP in the office. (I disclaim all knowledge of anything technical in
this direction, by the way.)
