If you attended one of these events or have additional insights to share, please do so on our mailing list or social media channels using the hashtag #WikidataBirthday.

As a reminder, the ongoing Wikidata Eleventh Birthday Datathon on Wikidata is still open for participation.[5] The datathon is a collaborative effort where participants work on improving Wikidata items related to a specific theme or domain. You can choose from a range of topics that interest you and start contributing. Your efforts will not only help enrich Wikidata but also benefit the other sister projects and those who use the open data from Wikidata.

Thanks to all who have already joined the event and are contributing to the datathon. If you haven't already joined the datathon, now is the perfect time to get involved.

There are some new interesting tasks added for you at the tasks page to contribute.[6]
You can find more information about the event, and how to participate on the event page.[5] Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Let's continue celebrating Wikidata's birthday and make a positive impact on its growth by participating in the ongoing datathon.

Best regards,
Jinoy

Greetings to all of you.

As you may be aware, we have commenced an 11-day Wikidata data-thon in collaboration with the celebrations of Wikidata's 11th birthday in India, starting today. As a part of this data-thon, we have listed some of the tasks on the event page[1] you can engage with to enhance the information within Wikidata. (The tasks related to this data-thon are not fixed. You can choose your own preferred tasks and be part of the data-thon.)

We have a set of tasks designed to be completed at specific intervals, occurring once every 11 days. Today, we have a minor task[2] at hand, which involves adding the original language of film and title for Indian origin films that are missing this information in their respective Wikidata entries.

We kindly request you to take a moment to visit the event page and participate in the datathon by including your name in the participants section if you haven't already done so.

Dear Wikimedians,

Greetings to all of you.

As you are aware, Wikidata is celebrating its remarkable journey as it marks its 11th birthday, reflecting on the remarkable transformation of the past decade.

These birthday festivities span a wide array of events taking place both online and offline across the globe, attracting participation from Wikimedians, data enthusiasts, and open knowledge advocates. Through activities such as edit-a-thons, workshops, and meetups, these gatherings serve as a unifying force for contributors and open data enthusiasts.

To celebrate Wikidata's 11th birthday, we've organized a series of thrilling events and activities in India.

Datathon

A 11 day long Wikidata data-thon is planned to celebrate Wikidata's 11th birthday in India.[1] The data-thon is organised to celebrate the birthday of Wikidata along with learning how we can contribute to Wikidata and make use of it in different Wikimedia projects.

The data-thon aims to enhance Wikidata items by incorporating labels and descriptions in your native language, along with the addition of references, qualifiers, and statements. Additionally, it encourages the utilization of India-related properties within these items, ultimately contributing to the improvement of structured data in Wikidata.

To stay updated and get involved, please have a look at the event page [1] and join the datathon by adding your name in the participants section. The page also provides details about the tasks and activities scheduled as part of the datathon.
Your contributions play a pivotal role in shaping the success and impact of the data-thon, and it will help enrich the shared knowledge that benefits us all.
