I would recommend increasing the size of the text-box for input after the selection of the language and script. Also, most users at public kiosks are more likely to use phonetic input rather than inscript.

Suppose we go to village fair, we will have people who will be comfortable with inscript. It will be even better to have alphabetic ordered on screen keyboard.
