Hi All,

Sorry I wasn't in touch with you recently. I'm otherwise occupied indefinitely, so don't have time for long time spent doing Wiki related work.

I have just a few additions to make in relation to the ongoing MS proceedings:
  1. As per recent email, the Austrian gov are another example of CC-BY. The Northern Ireland Executive also puts a number of photos in CC-BY on flickr.
  2. All Federal US Gov material is public domain - so can be used without CC and this happens automatically as is law.
  3. The Labour Party have lots of material up on Flickr in CC, but it's CC-ND. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/labourparty) I recently contacted the Labour Party to see if they could identify some people in some other photos I found. They subsequently offered to changed the licence on any images that I requested. It was a busy day when I contacted them, so the person in the press office seemed to have let it slip her mind, so I didn't ask again. The person I was dealing with was shauneen.armstrong@oireachtas.ie.
  4. Fine Gael also have a quantity of Flickr images, but are all ©. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/fine_gael/)
  5. Fianna Fáil have a Flickr, but are all ©. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiannafail)
  6. Sinn Féin are CC-BY as of August - what we want.  (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sinnfeinireland/)

There are other minor parties that have various licences as well.

The four biggest parties having active flickr accounts, with the CC from Lab and SF being encouraging. I know a proposal to rally the parties was made. If an email to Merrion Street fails, that could be a potential other route to take?

Regards,
Colm

P.S In case some people aren't sure about what is acceptable on Wiki, see here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Flickr_files

Hi,

Sorry, I see its tagged now. I  should have tagged it myself. I wanted to wait and check response.
I haven't used TextWrangler.

I added <pre> for now. You could also just add a linebreak at the beginning of every line. TextWrangler can do this for free (use ^ with grep on in find and replace to find the beginnings of each line).

Could you possibly format that so that it is legible?
