Dear Houcemeddine (and Mossab),
Here's the brand new Tunisia World University and School -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Tunisia - a major research
university planned in Arabic and French, and potentially other of the ~300
Wikipedia languages as well, (but not yet the Medical School at Tunisia
World University and School or the Law School at Tunisia World University
and School).
Sincerely, Scott

Dear Houcemeddine, (Mina and Mossab),
Thank you for your email, Houcemeddine. I have made the updates to the MIT
OCW-centric World University and School letter of support for
the University of Sfax’s new "Data Engineering and Semantics" research unit
per your request -
"remove the addendums and the hypertext link to the Google Scholar profile
of Dr. Mohamed Ben Aouicha and if you can add your signature at the end of
the letter. The Ministry of Higher Education only accepts one-page length
letters of support."
I have done this in a new GDoc (Sfax Letter of Support from World Univ &
Sch 24 Oct '19
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s2c8MNDkYnxN3f8By0RbE9DTvpNYSGiAPzL81bdzalw/edit?usp=sharing>)
and attached a new PDF.
I have also added the licensing clarifications and endorsements that CC-4
MIT OpenCourseWare (in its 5 languages) has provided World University and
School, when WUaS uses MIT's name.
Please remember that World University and School seeks to create an online
Tunisia World University and School in the Arabic language (and French as
well), and to offer to Tunisians and other Arabic speakers -
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Arabic_language - (in the
26-27 Arabic language countries out of ~200 countries in the world) online
Bachelor, Ph.D., Law, M.D. and I.B. high school, e.g.
https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Medical_Sch… -
and as WUaS develops further in Wikidata / Wikibase for this.
Thank you.
Sincerely, Scott

Hi Houcemeddine. Do you have suggested format for
the letter? If you
could please provide me with pre-written format I can ask our Deanship of
scientific research to sign it and send it to your university. Regards

Dear Houce,
As we have discussed, I have not been active in my academic affiliation
for many years, so it is not easy for me to offer a letter of support from
the University of Patras. However, as you know I am very supportive and
passionate about your research work so I will try to find a way to obtain a
letter from a reputable institution. This would involve a "pitch" to the
prospective professor and/or department: do you have a summary of your work
in a document, something that could very quickly get the point across to an
audience who knows very little about Wikidata but would be willing to learn
more about it and support our efforts? I have a couple of people in mind...
Thank you, hope to hear from you soon
Mina

Dear all,
I thank you for your efforts. I am honoured to inform you that we are
managing to launch a research unit dealing with Data Science research in
Tunisia. This research unit is named "Data Engineering and Semantics". It
belongs to Computer Science and Communications Department, Faculty of
Sciences of Sfax, University of Sfax. The group will be led by Dr. Mohamed *BEN
AOUICHA* (
https://scholar.google.ca/citations?user=XPVUu-gAAAAJ&hl=fr)=fr).
He was the person behind the project of University of Sfax about the use of
Wikipedia and Wiktionary in semantic technologies, particularly semantic
similarity measures. We need this research unit to have Wikimedia
Researchers in the University of Sfax affiliated to an official research
structure. The main goal of the unit is to promote and monitor
research efforts about Data Engineering and Semantic Technologies in the
University of Sfax. Data Enginering and Semantic Technology researches are
needed to ameliorate the usage and processing of knowledge bases including
wikis. Effectively, we will work in this unit to develop tools to
ameliorate linked data quality of Wikidata and to use Wikidata for a
variety of purposes including clinical decision support, Natural Language
Processing and Education. We will also analyze the output of wikis,
identify deficiencies and work to solve them. However, this will not be
possible without several letters of support from several institutions. I
ask if your research institution can send us a letter of support so that we
can have the approval of the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education to
create our new research unit.
Yours Sincerely,
Houcemeddine Turki (he/him)
