Dear Kimheng and other Khmer Wikipedians,
I'm attending #WikiWomen Camp in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 3-day event
really helps me see the potential activities related to Wikipedia that can
happen in the next months or years in Cambodia.
I really appreciate the work that has been done by Vantharith and the rest
of the Khmer Wikipedian members.
At the workshop here involves women from all over the world, and they talk
about the participation of women in Wikimedia movement. From 9-10% of the
Wikipedia contributors are female. That clearly means that there is a lake
of female participation -- not to mention the male involvement in our
country.
My friends from journalism school (journalism students) and I
will*organize an informal meet-up on one of the weekends
*: "*Wikipedia takes Phnom Penh*". We invite friends who have cameras and
laptops to meet at one cafe. There will probably be around 20 of us to
join. Please join us if you're in Phnom Penh. Its informal and it won't be
anything serious, lots of fun involved.
The reason why we're doing is that we want to increase the number of
pictures taken in Phnom Penh in the Wiki Commons. At the same time, we'll
help increase articles about Phnom Penh on English as well as Khmer
Wikipedia.
This is just a call to other Wikipedians in town who are interested to
join. ;-)

Hi all
Russavia from English Wikipedia and Commons here
I am currently looking for some photographers in several countries who
might be able to assist me with taking photos from Cambodia which I am
requiring for some articles I am working on.
Details of what I require can be found at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Russavia/Required_photos#.C2.A0Cambodia
If anyone is able to help me, or if anyone knows of photographers who
can help, feel free to contact me on this email (and to pass my email
on), or i can be contacted at
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Russavia
In the event someone is able to help, and the photo subjects are
obscured, I may be able to organise with the local diplomatic mission
for inside access to take photos and the like, so this is an option if
anyone is willing.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
Scotty (Russavia)
A quick note that, thanks to the sysadmins/listadmins and Gmane admins,
this list has just been added to Gmane and should appear in their
listings when this message is sent, with archives imported (if not, they
will be very soon).
See http://gmane.org/about.php and
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Overview for info on Gmane
and Wikimedia lists, and please add/update yours if missing.
Sorry for crossposting.

Hello Wikimedians!
I'm trying to get together a small meeting of dedicated Wikimedia
users, contributors and enthusiasts at Hackerspace Phnom Penh on
Sunday, 9 October 2011. I would really appreciate it if Wikimedians
who are interested in building a local community come together and
help me with this endeavour, so that we may have regular meet-ups in
our city.
If you are interested in being a part of this effort, please respond
as soon as possible. As of now, I am undecided on the time, but will
go by what is most convenient to the participants.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me by email or
call me at the phone number provided in the signature of this email.
Looking forward to responses by interested participants.
Yours sincerely,

Greetings, all!
I hope you are doing well. Since there hasn't been much activity on
the list lately, I wanted to set up a meeting of Wikipedia enthusiasts
in Phnom Penh this weekend. Do you think that's possible?
Inviting ideas and suggestions!
Yours sincerely,
Anirudh Bhati
