Dear Prerna

You can learn how to use a wiki, the kind of wiki used in Wikipedia, on your own, and you can learn how to create an account (recommended) for yourself in order to edit Wikipedia (make new pages, or to update or otherwise improve existing pages) on your own.

But coming to the (free) workshop is an opportunity to meet other people like yourself as well as to get some focused gyan from more people like yourself who already learned how, and to enjoy the spirit of Wikipedia.

I am sure you will find it both instructive and inspiring, and hope that soon one day you yourself will be helping others to be part of the Wikipedia movement of sharing and learning.

Dear Prerna!

Thanks for writing :)

All Wikipedia events are free. So there is no charge for attending the workshop.

We prefer that you bring your own laptop and you will be taught how to edit Wikipedia within the workshop itself. You can continue editing even after the workshop. The main motive is to teach you how to add any info on Wikipedia :)

Hope this helps

Hi,

I read about your Wikipedia Event for Female Editors in Wadala. I am interested and would like to know a few details:
1. What are the charges for the workshop?
2. How will we get to edit Wikipedia, do we get to do it right away after the session or some requirements are needed.
Thank you. Awaiting your reply on the same.
