Just wondering, given our strength in numbers is not that great, would it be prudent to take up an Assessment Drive and another COTM in March? Should we suspend COTM for the month of March to concentrate on the Assessment Drive (which is certainly the need of the hour, given the backlog)?

Subject: Re: [Wikimedia-in-en] Unassessed WP India articles
Hi Noopur,
The five point rating for B Class has been developed by WikiProject Military History. See their template below for an article on a Indian Army soldier:
{{WPMILHIST
|class=Start
|Biography=yes
|South-Asian=yes
<!-- B-Class 5-criteria checklist
| B1 <!-- Referencing and citations --> = y/n
| B2 <!-- Coverage and accuracy --> = y/n
| B3 <!-- Structure --> = y/n
| B4 <!-- Grammar and style --> = y/n
| B5 <!-- Supporting materials --> = y/n
}}-->
This is quite good and can be used by you to assess articles on the talk page. However, this 5 point system is not part of WikiProject India template. So you can copy it into a new section on talk page of article, assess & date-stamp-sign your assessment.
Here is a detailed B-class assessment if you want to make a useful analysis & give hints to improvement. If not then just assess & leave the suggestions out (though this is not desireable and not the course recommended).

I just have to use the 5 point rating thing below to assess right?

Its easy to classify if you follow this ready reckoner:
Stub - one sentance to one/two paras
Start - more than two paras
C - has lead & structure, must have infobox if applicable, must have image if available
B - developed a structure, has referencing, reasonably complete in content, checked for NPOV, No OR.
After this, one cannot self-assess.
GA - needs to undergo GAN process by any experienced user
A - Needs to Undergo A class review/peer review (usually after GA).
FA - Needs to undergo FAC from panel of experienced FAC examining editors
GA deals with major issues of MOS & 5 principles, A Class with content, sources, correctness, completeness. So A Class is done en route to FAC and after GA. You can do A Class directly after B Class & take it to FA without going through GA if you wish.
Hope this helps, Noopur
Warm regards,
Ashwin Baindur
