As some of you may have already heard, Katie Filbert -- who has served as President of Wikimedia DC since last May -- will be spending the coming months in Europe supporting the development of the new Wikidata project (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikidata).  Since the geographic requirements of this new position will make it difficult for her to participate in local activities in DC on a regular basis, Katie will be stepping down as President, effective today.

Nicholas Bashour, the current Vice President of Wikimedia DC, has been elected to take the position of President for the remainder of the year.  Kevin Chen, the chair of Wikimedia DC's Legal Committee, will replace Nicholas as Vice President.  Katie will retain her current seat on the Wikimedia DC Board of Directors.

Our deepest thanks go out to Katie for her outstanding leadership over the course of the past year; we will all strive to live up to the example she has set.

Aw...I'm sad to hear that, but glad to know she would be doing something very interesting.

My thanks to aude. Just one question, would aude still be involved in Wikimania as an organizer?

Thanks again Katie, and Good luck in Germany.

Regards
Theo
