Because of how everything interweaves, that template is usually only edited by Romaine.

The start and end time for Malta on that template look just fine to me and haven't changed in the past week or so.

If you want to change the start/end time, the way to go about it, is to make the change in the list of participating countries: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2021/Participating_countries
And if need be, ping Romaine.

I dont know why Jarekt has created the /dates template? It seems to be a 2015 attempt to arrive at a different structure, and to the best of my knowledge isn't used anywhere. I would suggest to delete it to avoid confusions like this one.

finally, much appreciate the changes made afterwards, but i would recommend to use the same system that the templates use, which is to include the template {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2021|mt}} rather than the category by itself. That maintains consistency.

Thanks, Yaroslav -

I think that the last template edit performed by Philip has done the trick.  It works!

You can see it in action here:

Thank you,

Toni

I am a Commons admin, I can edit the template but I would need some better indications what to add there.

If I have to create a bespoke template etc. it'll need to wait until tomorrow as I don't have the capacity for that today; I'm on the road because of my day job until tomorrow morning.  I don't dare attempt something like this on my mobile!

Hopefully someone else can pick this up accordingly in the meantime, but if it's still unresolved by tomorrow morning I should be able to give it my full attention again. It is indeed surprising that such a key template has such restrictive editing permissions on it.

Thanks again,

Toni

P.S.: I just realised that that page does nothing, because the actual dates are stored in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WLM-is-running, which can only be edited by Commons Admins (which is quite an extreme measure and relies solely on a handful of people). It might be advisable to create your own template in order to still be in control of your campaign (one example of that would be https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WikiDaheim_is_running ).

Hi Toni,

mt was missing in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:WLM-is-running/dates - I added it, please try again. The template should be added now during the upload, you'll have to manually add the template to the already uploaded images unfortunately.

Hi -

We're hoping that someone on this list can help us with a very specific issue on WLM 2021 in Malta.

It looks like uploads from Malta on WLM 2021 are not being assigned the hidden category Image from Wiki Loves Monument 2021 in Malta automatically through the upload wizard assigned to campaign=wlm-mt

For this reason, Category:Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2021 in Malta remains empty!

I've just uploaded a test image via the Upload Wizard attached to campaign=wlm-mt to double check this.  You can see it here:

From what I can see, it has not been assigned the hidden category Category:Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2021 in Malta automatically.

I have a feeling that the solution is just a matter of editing a template, but I'm not sure which template needs editing exactly.

We would greatly appreciate any direct help or suggestions to fix this.

Many thanks,

Toni
