Because the page in question had been involved in
several attempts at vanity vandalism by the subject of
the article, it went through a long, contentious
period of VfDing in which the subject of the article
spent a great deal of time and effort trying to
explain to us why he is notable, as well as repeated
deletion of the VfD header, repeated vandalism of the
VfD votes, and repeated creation of sockpuppet voters.
When the article was deleted, the subject recreated
it so many times that it eventually it had to be
completed blank and protected.
Now the Wikipedia User in question has misused the VfU
process in order to get a copy of the non-notable page
in order to get a copy of it to put in his User space,
even though the article itself is of no consequence to
him or to the community in general, but only to flout
the consensus of the community.
