Hey there,
We are hoping to update the cover photo for the Wikipedia Facebook page. I
have proposed one particular photo which I liked a lot. The photo is public
domain, and it has also been retouched by a Commons user- which illustrates
a positive feature about Commons.
Please feel free to share your opinions and recommend other PD photos that
you would like to see up. Thanks!

I think that one should work fine. Let's switch to it for now unless
there are other opinions.

And for those who want to search for additional
images, also so that
we can rotate the title photo on Facebook more often: The CatScan link
at

can be used to search for PD images on Commons which have featured
picture status.
Note that there is now an easier way to search for these, by
clicking
the "Featured pictures" button on the top right of
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Public_domain (I don't
know if there is a cap on the number of results).
