Dear all, the OA signalling project's main page at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Open_Access/Signalling_… is a bit dated now - its most recent summary is in the report at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Open_Access/Signalling_… . Further progress depends a lot on third-party activities (especially Wikidata, but also PubMed Central), and we try to move forward as much as circumstances allow. In the meantime, we are working on improving citation and analytics infrastructure more generally, e.g. as per https://wikimania2015.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/Usage_of_Digital_Objec… and https://wikimania2015.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/The_Pleasures_and_Pain… . Apart from WMF's upcoming OA policy (as per https://wikimania2015.wikimedia.org/wiki/Submissions/Wikimedians_share;_Res… ), the Public Access policies of several U.S. Federal Agencies are also likely to affect the OA Signalling project - both NASA and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) have opted to work with NIH's PubMed Central: http://www.sparc.arl.org/blog/second-us-federal-agency-releases-public-acce… http://sparc.arl.org/blog/nasa-public-access-plan-available-uses-nihs-pmc-p… This also means that they will be using JATS, the XML format in use at PMC, and the basis for our full-text imports into Wikisource, as per https://github.com/wpoa/JATS-to-Mediawiki . Along with the Open Access Media Importer (which now stands at about 19k files), this tool has discovered many issues with JATS that are now being worked on in the framework of the JATS for Reuse working group at http://jats4r.github.io/ , which will present its activities at the upcoming JATS Con (which prevents me from attending the Norway event), as per http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/2015/schedule2015a.html#1-215 .
