Hi Vlasdislav,
thanks for sharing this your good news.
@1 Project pages from other GLAM projects can be found in
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Commons_partnerships_by_country
and its subcategories. Creating something similar to
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:National_Archives_and_Records_Ad…
or
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Bundesarchiv could help to
provide some basic information about the project in English. More
importantly it enables you to gather discussions, questions or user
feedback such as error reports for descriptions, etc. in a centralised
place.
@2 Specific numismatic information are helpful to re-users and future
numismatic projects. Given that this information is already available, it
would make sense to add it to the images' descriptions. I'm not aware of a
information template targeted at numismatics on Wikimedia Commons. Several
GLAMs use modified information templates based on
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Artwork An overview can be
found in
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Infobox_templates
English Wikipedia has this template for coins:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_coin So eventually a
combination of the artwork template and the infobox coin template could be
a solution.
@3 Depending on where and when you plan to release this announcement, you
might want to provide a link to the Commons category to which the files
will be uploaded. I'm not sure if the link to the List of Roman Emperors
intentionally refers to Bulgarian Wikipedia, given that you target an
English speaking audience you might want to link to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Roman_emperors The rest looks fine to
me. Please make sure you announce the project on the GLAM newsletter at
https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter

Dear all,
My name is Vladislav Nedelev, from Bulgaria, and some of you probably
remember me from the Wikimedia CEE Meeting in Kiev in December 2014.
After few weeks of communication between me and Vassia Atanassova
(Spiritia) as representatives of the user group of ’ Wikimedians of
Bulgaria’ and the Numismatic Society – ‘Philippopolis’, we have their
permission to upload a collection of 236 pictures of 118 ancient Roman
coins, minted in Philippopolis, now Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The collection
comprises some well preserved bronze coins, minted during the reign of
eleven Roman Emperors from 81 to 222 year AD, among whom Antoninus Pius,
Caracalla, Commodus, Elagabalus, Geta, Marcus Aurelius and Septimius
Severus. The collection is very exhaustively described, with data about
the diameter, weight, emperor, the material and inscription on the coins.
Together with the people for the Society we prepared a short announcement
about this GLAM collaboration project, which is published (in Bulgarian) on
the Society’s website
<http://nd-philippopol.com/%D1%81%D1%8A%D1%82%D1%80%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE-%D1%81-%D1%83%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%BF%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%8F/>.
After this preparation, now we reach the point where we are supposed to
start uploading pictures in Commons. But we have some questions:
- Do you think that we have to create a new page in the “Commons”
namespace about the collaboration in commons, given that we already have a
page
<https://bg.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A3%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%BF%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%8F:%D0%A1%D1%8A%D1%82%D1%80%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE/%D0%9D%D1%83%D0%BC%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%BD%D0%BE_%D0%94%D1%80%D1%83%D0%B6%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE_%E2%80%9E%D0%A4%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%BB%E2%80%9D>
in the Bulgarian Wikipedia. Is there a model for pages for such
collaborations?
- Do you recommending us to use the default template
“Information”, or shall we create a new special template for coins with
different parameters like diameter, weight, emperor, etc., and information
about the collaboration and about the source of the pictures. Can you
suggest a more specific template for coins?
- Are we missing some vitally important thing to do or announce
in relation to this GLAM collaboration? I am attaching а translation of the
news
<http://nd-philippopol.com/%D1%81%D1%8A%D1%82%D1%80%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%87%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE-%D1%81-%D1%83%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%BF%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%8F/>
from the official web site of the society?
Any advise and help to make these first steps are more than welcome!
Yours sincerely,
Vladislav Nedelev
