Hello folks,
Good day and I want to share an exciting news.
In Armenia, I talked about the internationalization and the importance of
translation
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1K3iqJTXH36UTLRltd-KLdiUE6Tg-2fk-bbq9pxE8TFA/edit?disco=AAAABTQnkwI>.
I think this is really a crucial part of the movement if we really want to
make it a global and integrated one.
After I got back to Taiwan, a start up company of professional translation
online service approach to our chapter. The company is called termsoup
<https://termsoup.com> and they are providing very user friendly
translation interface. The company is happy to provide its service of
Wikipedia translators free of charge since the service itself benefit from
the API of Wikipedia.
I am thinking about maybe we can set up a filtering process to a broad
Wikipedia just like the TWL project that they deal with journal publishers
to provide valuable user account access for Wikimedians who contribute, so
can we incentivize professional translators to provide their service by
providing them termsoup free for certain period account.
What do you think? Is translation service too far fetch to Education or
it's a good idea?
I also forward this email to Amir, so he may provide his insight on this.
Best,
Liang
