Hola education community!

Hope you're enjoying a nice start of the week. I wanted to let you know that the application period for the Wikimedia & Education Greenhouse is now closed!

We have received 15 team applications from countries so diverse as Bangladesh, Ghana, Benin, India, Brazil, and others. Project ideas include formal and informal education initiatives that engage a variety of audiences, and that promote the participation of smaller language communities. Thank you so much to everyone who applied! We are really excited to see the great project ideas you have brought forward and we appreciate the time and effort you have put in your applications. We have closed the individual applications with over 100 registered participants from all over the globe. Finally, we have a great group of excited and committed volunteer collaborators from the education movement joining us!

So what comes next? This week (May 13-19) teams will have the opportunity to edit and improve their applications before the assessment and selection process starts next Monday. We would like to encourage you, members of the education community, to engage with and support the applicant teams this week by providing feedback to their applications, asking questions, and/or offering an endorsement! Your voice and expertise will be very valuable in this process.

Thank you again for your support and interest in the Wikimedia & Education Greenhouse. We look forward to the next stage in this adventure!

Cheers,

-Melissa
