Its been a while since we got together to discuss issues after the in-person trainings in the various countries. We are thrilled to share that we wish to start a monthly meeting series on IRC and we are looking forward to having our first meet on Friday 15th December 2017.
The venue for our discussions will be via our IRC channel
#wiki-dev-africa. We entreat all to join in as we discuss your journey so far and ways to extend your growth in the movement. Some particular issues for discussion will be:
- Are you still stuck and can't find your way (be guided, mentored, or need help)
- Issues faced on your journey so far
- Finding ways of growing (projects to join, ways to get active or useful, joining wider community activities, etc.)
- Any areas of interest we are missing
- What are we not doing right (any advice or suggestions)
- Questions from the community?
If you are still struggling around joining our IRC Channel, follow the steps below:
- Create an account at https://www.irccloud.com/
- Verify your account via your email
- login to IRC
- Select host Freenode
- Fill in your IRC nickname
- For channels put in #wiki-dev-africa
- Submit
Congratulations you have created your IRC account and joined our channel. We entreat you all to make it there, come let's shape the affairs of the only developer community for Africans interested in Wikimedia.
